Learning about Cults?

I’ve not much to say today. I’m sleepy and have a nagging pain about my shoulder. Life has felt a little busier, and dare I say it, a bit more hopeful, as of late. Perhaps there will be an eventual end to this lockdown?

Recently I’ve been watching a lot of youtube around cult mentality, particularly from those who have been part of a cult like religion. this caused me to look at an authority in my novel afresh. Though it’s not meant as a religious institute there are definite modals of control used. I shall be using the BITE method to flesh out the rules and regulations of a council in my novel.

For those who don’t know BITE modal was created by Steven Hassan and stands for Behaviour, Information, Thought and Emotional control. For example if one is urged to change their behaviour information is sought out. If one has limited access to information they reach out to their families or friends for emotional support, If thought is being regulated one tends to rely of emotions. If emotions are controlled then one might search out information. However if a cult leader has a ay in all of these aspects they have control over the individual. At least that’s how I understand it.

Thanks for reading, hope your all staying safe out there
